The whimsical platformer New Super Lucky’s Tale will be arriving soon on the Nintendo Switch, as announced by its developer Playful Studios.
New Super Lucky’s Tale is meant to expand on the previous game in the series, Super Lucky’s Tale, which was released November 7, 2017 for the Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Super Lucky’s Tale follows the tale of Lucky, a curious and brave fox on a quest to find his inner strength and help his sister rescue the Book of Ages from Jinx. Jinx is the scheming and mysterious villain trying to reshape the world for reasons still unknown to Lucky.
Along the way, players will encounter a hilarious supporting cast of friends and adversaries. To get to Jinx, Lucky must confront the nefarious Kitty Litter (Jinx’s mischievous kids) who are self-taught villains and may actually end up sabotaging Jinx’s plans by accident. Lucky also meets a cast of colorful allies and friends such as Yetis, Kookie Spookies, a village of farming worms, and other colorful friends inhabiting the Book of Ages.
Super Lucky’s Tale‘s gameplay revolves around platforming, side-scrolling mechanics and puzzle-solving. You have to run, jump, climb, and burrow to reach your goals. All this whilst going through thrilling boss battles and numerous puzzles. Mini-games, collectibles, and tons of rewarding secrets add to the game’s fun and replayability factor. An official overview for the game guarantees easy entrance into New Super Lucky’s Tale, describing the game as a “Leap into a playful platforming adventure for all ages."
As for New Super Lucky’s Tale, we should expect the same, but with the added features of new levels, story, cinematics, cutscenes, and character dialogue. Also, upgrades to art and lighting, UI, sound and music have been added. Quality of life and gameplay improvements such as tighter controls and a fully rotatable 3D camera will also be present in New Super Lucky’s Tale, but the main story should still stay the same.
New Super Lucky’s Tale will launch for the Nintendo Switch on November 8. No news has been announced yet whether it will be released for other platforms.
