A new trailer for developer Odd Bug Studio's "Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter" showed off some of the game's magic and monsters ahead of its official release later this month.

The newest release boasts a voiceover by Doug Cockle, who was the voice of Geralt of Rivia from "The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt."

The footage showed off a ton of gameplay and highlighted what fans can expect in the sequel, such as glorious violence in stunning 2D visuals.

Fans of the series will be able to choose between a standard digital edition or a deluxe edition for "Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter." The latter will also give you two sets of cosmetic DLCs: the "Augur of the Draugr" set and the "Hair to the Throne" cosmetic pack.

The sequel will give you a chance to explore a vast, wintry kingdom while listening to Cockle's full narration.

You will go on an epic adventure throughout the northern realm and biomes of the Ratdom, which is an expansive, frost-bitten land that is on the brink of being caught in an all-out war, according to Nintendo Life.

In "Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter," players can track and hunt down 15 legendary beasts in the northern frontier. Successfully vanquishing these foes will reward you with rare resources that you can use to craft powerful equipment.

Brand New Mechanics and Combat Elements

Players are able to unleash the power of the gods in the game by unlocking the power of the four deities in the form of "Elementa" spells. These let them harness the magics of fire, poison, ice, and electricity.

The game is set to come out to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on Jan. 28, 2025.

You will take control of protagonist Arlo, who is the son of the Warden of the North. He will go on a quest to avenge his home and family from the brutal attack of the Dark Wings, RPGamer said.

When "Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter" releases later this month, it will also come with Native Linux and Steam Deck support for fans who are on those platforms. The sequel builds on top of the adored original that was released in 2021.

The sequel introduces a slew of new gameplay mechanics, a fresh story, and even more brutal and intense combat. Lead designer Jack Bennett said the team was excited to share that spellcasting was making its way to the upcoming game, according to Gaming on Linux.
