Open-world survival game Retreat to Enen finally got an official release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

The game, which was originally launched on PC on Aug. 1, 2022, is set to come to modern generation consoles on Oct. 22, 2024. The announcement of the release date also came alongside a trailer for the base-building simulator.

Retreat to Enen

Retreat to Enen lets players build their own bases as they work to survive in a harsh environment, unlike other games in the genre. Instead of fighting for prosperity, you will have to live off the land in balance with nature itself.

The game features three diverse biomes where you can explore and forage as well as hunt to survive.

You will also be able to craft, build, and meditate in order to unlock the secrets of the land of Enen. It also has more than 160 unique items that you can gather and collect, according to VGChartz.

In Retreat to Enen, players can have a relaxing and engaging survival experience. They can build the home of their dreams. The game has more than 50 unique unlockable building modules as well as dozens of furniture pieces and decorative items.

The game is set in the year 3600 CE and humanity is barely recognizable after centuries of war, socio-economic strife, and the impending climate catastrophe. All of these factors put the apex species on the verge of extinction.

But turning back from the brink, humans chose a different route and instead traversed a path of healing, peace, and reverence for the ecosystem.

As the Earth slowly heals, every single human who reaches adulthood is tasked with learning how to become one with nature, Gematsu said.

A Unique Take on Survival Games

Retreat to Enen was initially revealed during the Freedom Games Showcase that was held on June 10, 2022. With a focus on meditation, players will have a spirit meter that slowly decreases over time.

This will affect your ability to sprint and craft various items you need to progress. In order to keep your spirits high, you will have to take a moment to meditate. This is a unique mechanic in Retreat to Enen that looks to shake the formula up a bit.

It encourages players to take a moment in their own lives to reflect. In continuing the theme of unique systems, there is the fact that the game does not have any map or compasses. Players will need to rely on their own memory to know where to go, according to Shack News.
