Someone on Blizzard’s marketing team, or IGN’s, could be in some trouble. On IGN’s website Monday morning, a banner ad for Overwatch shows that the zany shooter’s release date is reportedly going to be May 24.
Blizzard already announced the game is being officially launched in spring 2016 at Blizzcon last year. This hasn’t been confirmed by Blizzard or an official source yet, so take it all with a grain of salt.
According to the ad, if you pre-order the game you’ll be invited to a second round of beta testing. This should at least appease some of the angry players who didn’t get in the first time around. It was one of the most exclusive betas, with the demand for the game demand being way higher than keys were available. Hopefully the game lives up to the hype and we get to shoot guns as a genetically enhanced gorilla sooner than expected.
Overwatch is a shooter with different characters to choose from. Unlike other MOBA-style games, Overwatch allows you to switch out characters mid game. You can also have multiple of the same character on a team, allowing you to mix and match strategies.
