UPDATE: 'Overwatch' Sombra News: Console Glitch Leads Pop Up
If you're like me, you’ve been desperately waiting for Overwatch’s next hero, Sombra, to finally unveil herself. Blizzard has been leaving breadcrumbs (in the form of code) in their trailers and site to lead players to the hacker lady herself. Amomentincrime.com, a website based on a television show in the Overwatch universe, had a percentage that slowly crept up. Earlier today, the site finally reached 100 percent, so what happened?
Well, kind of nothing. When the page is translated it says: “... Connecting ...
... Protocol v1.95 Shadow started ...
... finished Transmission - ending load ...
... Charging complete. Bastion Unit E-54 corrupted compromised ... ... Completing connection …”
So Sombra managed to hack into the system and release her “Shadow” virus, which is corrupting Bastio, everyone’s least favorite beeping robot. It looks like Sombra knows how to get inside an omnic, which could mean some really bad news for the Overwatch team.
There was also a slight update to the PTR, Overwatch’s testing zone, but it looks like update 1.1 is just bug fixes.
Discord’s Twitter account has been changed to “ s o m b r a,” but there’s no way to know if this is an official Blizzard thing or just a bunch of nerds messing with fans eager for some news.
Looks like FACEIT, the organization that runs Overwatch tournaments has also been "hacked" by Sombra:
- Amazing Art Style
- Balanced Mechanics
- Characters Keep You Coming Back For More
- No Single Player
- Overwhelming At First
