Symmetra's rework still needs more work
Symmetra's rework still needs more work Blizzard

Everyone who has their hopes up about playing the new Symmetra any time soon is going to be severely disappointed. Jeff Kaplan, Overwatch’s game director and overall nice guy, posted in the battle.net forums on Tuesday in a forum post titled : “ When do we think Symmetra will go live?”

Kaplan said: “We want to keep testing Symmetra on the PTR for a bit still.” If that isn’t a definite “she’s not ready yet,k” then my name is Junkrat. Symmetra has always been a difficult hero to balance and her new rework makes the task that much more difficult. Making her feel fluid and unique, while also powerful on both attack and defense has been the goal of her rework since its announcement, but Kaplan and his crew might feel that she isn’t there yet.

After some tinkering with the new Symmetra, I can say that she feels very strong. Her moving shield and shield generator turns her team into an unstoppable force of carnage, that can’t be stopped by most normal means. Sombra can hack and use her ultimate to turn down the shields, but without the purple lady, it’s an uphill battle.

I want Symmetra on the live server so badly, she’s one of my favorite heroes. Ever since I started playing in beta, the architect spoke to me, with her play style and design. She was elegant and dangerous without sporting an overly sexualized armor set -- I’m looking at you Widowmaker.

All you Overwatch fans are going to have to start season three without Symmetra, I’m sure Bastion misses you.
