New information about the next big Planet Coaster patch is out this week, following a weekend appearance at PAX East 2017, featuring new rides and mechanics for the popular theme park simulator. The first Planet Coaster update of 2017 even features a new track, for use with the game’s ride editor, which lets players create their own go-kart courses for the first time.

Planet Coaster ’s spring update will be released April 11, the studio confirmed on Monday, and a new press release gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect (as far as new content goes) when the patch debuts next month. Six new rides will be added to the game, including three coasters designed by the Planet Coaster team, and that’s just the start of what we can expect to see in April. Frontier also promises to show off other upcoming changes via a series of live streams on the game’s YouTube channel.

Frontier hasn’t said much about the Crime and Security mechanics coming to Planet Coaster next month. Today’s announcement confirms players will be able to build a CCTV network in their parks and hire security guards to handle any criminal elements. But it’s not clear just how crime can get inside the park. The press release mentions vandalization and pickpocketing, but there’s no word on whether drunk patrons might fight one another or if managers will need to worry about theft from park shops.

Here’s what Frontier had to say on the matter:

  • Crime and security. Dissatisfied guests may vandalize park scenery, and pickpockets will infiltrate your park to steal other guests’ cash. Keep your law-abiding guests safe with security staff and CCTV cameras.

Planet Coaster is currently available on PC.
