Sony has revealed a bunch of games that will become accessible for free for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers in January 2025, and fans are not happy with the lineup.

The titles that are included in these monthly packages are usually not massive day-one releases and can be played as long as people are subscribed to the service. The majority of the games included are indie games, older titles, or must-have classics.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for January 2025

The first three free games for the subscription service for the first month of the year have been shared and include "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League," "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered," and "The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe."

However, when fans saw the lineup of games, they were immediately overcome with a feeling that something was lacking. The announcement was made by the official PlayStation account on X.

The main issue that people have with the reveal is with "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League." The game will officially stop releasing new content following the end of the game's latest season this month, according to Screen Rant.

There has been an overwhelmingly negative reaction from the community on social media regarding the games included in the PlayStation Plus monthly games package.

A lot of the people who were complaining know that "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" is not getting new content anymore.

Inclusion of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Fortunately for players, the game itself is not shutting off its servers completely, as its single and multiplayer modes will still be accessible for the foreseeable future. However, many argue that the game should not be part of the list because of its poor reviews.

The game takes players on an adventure where they will have to take down the Justice League using famous villains from the DC universe.

"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" features an original narrative that is set within an expansive open world, Insider Gaming said.

Despite this, the game leaves a lot to be desired, and it was widely panned for technical issues, inclusion of microtransactions in a full-priced game, and lack of offline modes.

One user slammed it for being part of the PlayStation Plus package and compared it to a "fossil" after its support gets shut down.

Others noted that "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" was a repetitive and bland looter-shooter that was not fun to play for an extended period of time despite its engaging story, according to IGN.
