As the Talonflame and brand new Safari Zone in Pokémon Shuffle continue, the free-to-play Nintendo 3DS game has updated with a brand new Mega Pokémon competition with Mega Swampert being the prize this time around.
The Mega Water Pokémon competition will run from Jan. 5 to 12, which will end the same day as Talonflame and the fifth Safari Zone so be sure to get the rank needed to get Swamperite.
Speaking of ranks, here are the places you need to get during the Mega Swampert Pokémon Shuffle competition to get the sweet sweet prizes in the US:
1-3,600 Swampertite and Mega Speedup
3,601-18,000 Swampertite
18,001-24,000 Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay
24,001 and Below Jewel
For Europe, here are the standings you’ll need to place in:
1-2,300 Swampertite and Mega Speedup
2,301-12,000 Swampertite
12,001-16,000 Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay
16,001 and Below Jewel
And for Japan:
1-10,000 Swampertite and Mega Speedup
10,001-50,000 Swampertite
50,001-70,000 Attack Power Up and Disruption Delay
70,001 and Below Jewel
But is Mega Swampert worth it? Well, Swampert has a base power of 70, like the other Hoenn starters but its mega ability is the same as Mega Blaziken in that it erases 3 water Pokémon .
The Mega Swampert stage is a timed competition so you’ll want to bring in the strongest Pokémon you have that are either electric or grass types. Shaymin and Thunderous are good choices as their high base powers help. As for the Mega Pokémon slot, Mega Ampharos or Mega Manectric may be optimal as their abilities destroy the blocks and barrier disruptions.
Mega Venusaur is also another choice but it’s ability doesn’t eliminate the disruptions as well as Ampharos and Manectric.
