'Pokemon Snap' Coming To Virtual Console, Relive Your Childhood With Mew

Pokémon Snap is finally coming to the Wii U Virtual Console so get ready to take some pictures on a slow-moving rail car! Nintendo UK just tweeted that the long-awaited Nintendo 64 classic is finally coming this Thursday, Aug. 18.

For those of you too young to remember Pokémon Snap , let me give you the details. You played as a photographer traveling around an island inhabited with all of the original 151 Pokémon. The better the shot, the happier you’d make Professor Oak, the original Pokémon Professor. I remember sitting in front of my friend’s television because I only had a Playstation, watching him try to get epic shots of Zapdos and Articuno.

I’ll never forget the moment when we managed to unlock the last stage with Mew. This was in the days before the internet, so neither of us had actually seen this mythical monster before. All we need now is Pokémon Stadium and my N64 nostalgia will finally blossom like a Vileplume.
