The new Prison Break trailer reveals a ton of information about the new season. There’s new and old footage, but if you play the video in slow motion a lot more is revealed. We now know Michael is locked up in Ogygia Prison in Yemen. The facility is quite far from the nearest airport, Sana’a International. This might make it difficult to break out of a country in civil war, and explains why the writers have said getting out of prison is just the beginning.
The name of the Yemeni prison isn’t even the most compelling spoiler. Dominic Purcell previously teased Michael was involved with ISIL, but a wanted poster revealed in the trailer suggests Michael is in much deeper than he let on. The piece of paper has Wentworth Miller’s mugshot, but says his name is Kaniel Outis instead of Michael. Underneath is the warning: “Wanted in the killing of senior CIA official. Numerous bombings. Known terrorist. Known ties to ISIL.”
A closer look at the footage also confirms Michael has new tattoos. We spotted these in past footage, but now we have a closer look. Each palm of Michael’s hands have what resembles the eye of Horus. The new ink appears to continue all the way up his arms. His new tattoos could have something to do with his initiation into ISIL and “less of a blueprint,” as Miller said last month.
The most suspicious scene was seeing Michael’s body cold, dead, pale corpse in a casket. “I died seven years ago. Left behind a wife, a son, and a brother. But the dead talk, if you listen,” Michael says in a voiceover.
Dominic Purcell teased earlier this year that Michael got involved but then tried to cut ties, so they set him up and that’s why he’s in jail. What do you think? How does Michael go from a casket to a prison in Yemen? Let us know in the comments below! Prison Break premieres on Fox April 4.
