It seems things have finally worked out between Sony and Bethesda. Mods will be coming to Skyrim and Fallout 4 on PS4, along with a bump to native 4K rendering on the PS4 Pro.
Bethesda announced the PS4 mod support in a post on its website. Mods will come to Skyrim on launch, Oct. 28. Those who want to play Fallout 4 with mods will have to keep waiting a little while longer. According to Bethesda, mods will be coming to Fallout 4 “after the work is complete on Skyrim.”
Additionally, Fallout 4 will be getting the PS4 Pro resolution bump, allowing it to display in native 4K as well. I’m sure Bethesda will post more information when the time comes, but to those Fallout 4 players on PS4: the wait shouldn’t be much longer. I’m sure you’ve heard that before.
If you want to play either game with mods, installing them is a breeze. Once the update is live, all you will have to do is go to the “Mods” menu from the main menu. From here, simply search through the mods you want to install, and download them. If the PS4’s situation will be like the Xbox One’s, a separate game file will be made that disables Trophies. Think about it like an alternate dimension for your character, where anything (within limits, because there are filters for console mods) goes.
So what do you think? Are you excited to see Bethesda game mods coming to PS4? Will you get a PS4 Pro now that you know you’ll be able to mod Skyrim in native 4K? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
