QConfirm vs. Invictus Gaming
This match was played in Oregon, which is a defender-sided map. Invictus started on the defense and had a hard time countering QC’s aggressive attacks. Invictus opted to funnel into the basement site on defense, which made it easy for QC to roam clear and execute into the site. All QC had to do was execute from multiple directions to put pressure on the defenders.
The first half resulted in a 3-3 scoreline. After the side switch, on the seventh round, Matin "SpeakEasy" Yunos of Invictus got an ace by killing the entire enemy team. SpeakEasy walked down the tower stairs and got five kills, while his teammates pressured the opponents by opening verticals and clearing the site. Then, Invictus was able to win a few more rounds and finished the game with a 7-5 scoreline.
Elevate vs. Chiefs Esports Club
The matchup between these two teams was played in Chalet, which is an attacker-sided map. Elevate is an aggressive team while Chiefs is a team that likes to play methodically. Chiefs started the game on the defense. The first round was easy for Chiefs as one player of Elevate disconnected from the game, which made it a 5v4.
Chiefs’ passive defense always ensured Elevate had to execute into the site in the final seconds. The first half resulted in a 5-1 scoreline in favor of Chiefs. After the side switch, Adithep "DCH" Channuan of Elevate got a triple kill on round nine, and this led the team to take one more round. However, Chiefs grabbed the remaining two rounds and won the game with a 7-3 scoreline. Trent "Worthy" Mitchell-Rose of Chiefs carried his team with 15 kills.
