After the eerie remake of Resident Evil 2, Capcom is reportedly working on a Resident Evil 3 remake. Resident Evil 2 remake was positively received by many gamers and the game has been a massive success to the developer. Given this, it makes sense that the developer is now inclined toward pushing another remake as soon as possible.
It took 21 years after its original release on the PS1 that Resident Evil 2 received a remake. The game received great commercial and critical success. Owing to how well the game has been made, it is already nominated for this year’s Game Awards. Moreover, the game has already secured a Golden Joystick for 2019’s Ultimate Game of the Year. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation about this news from Capcom itself, it is certainly possible that we might begin learning about the Resident Evil 3 remake project in the coming days.
Resident Evil 3 launched in September 1999 and was officially titled Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. In the game, players step into the shoes of Jill Valentine, who is trying to escape the zombie-infested Racoon City. In Resident Evil 3, players encounter an undefeatable villain, infamously named Nemesis, that cannot be defeated until the end game.
Currently, Capcom is busy with Project Resistance, which is a co-op game set in the Resident Evil universe. Project Resistance is also set to launch in 2020 and it will be interesting to see how Capcom handles the launch of two AAA games in the same year.
