Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland announced on his Twitter account that not only is a virtual reality (VR) Rick and Morty game on the way for the HTC Vive, but it will also be playable at 2016 San Diego Comic-Con.
The brief announcement trailer for Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality shows a VR representation of Rick’s garage lab in the Sanchez family household. Even though much of Rick and Morty is set in alternate dimensions and on far-flung planets, Rick’s garage is still one of the hearts of the show.
This first trailer for the Rick and Morty VR show promises you’ll get the chance to destroy it.
“Is this place 3D, is this place a VR?” Morty asks, as he swipes around a lumbus (those things are even floppier than I had imagined).
The official description makes it sound more like an interactive VR experience than a game, but it’s certainly better than nothing while we await the No Man’s Sky procedurally-generated, multi-dimensional Rick and Morty video game opus of Dan Harmon’s dreams.
“Thrust your hands and eyeballs into Rick's garage with Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality. Touch things! Fondle things! Make horrible mistakes with dire consequences! The future is truly here (and it is deeply unsettling).”
