The first post-launch patch for RIGS: Mechanized Combat League is just around the corner, Guerrilla Games announced this week, and there’s a cornucopia of free content on the horizon for the widely-loved PSVR shooter. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait until the patch rolls out to get a sneak peek of what to expect from the first big RIGS update.
RIGS debuted alongside the PlayStation VR headset, back in October, quickly becoming one of the most popular titles available for the platform. But many fans would agree it was a bit light on content, making this week’s announcement from Guerrilla all the more exciting. According to the studio, the Winter Update will include a new set of APX rigs, with lower armor ratings, along with the game’s first European map. The first RIGS update will also introduce new customization and celebration items that can be purchased for your pilot. Guerrilla Games is even introducing a new “weekly trial series” feature that will give players new tasks to complete each week.
And the best news of all: everything in next month’s RIGS patch will be free.
