A Disney marketing director for Russia said at Kino Expo that the final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would play in front of Doctor Strange on Oct. 28 (Nov. 4 in the United States). But according to unnamed “multiple sources” speaking with Making Star Wars, the new Rogue One trailer will actually come out this week.
“Time zone differences make it difficult to pin down exactly which day but we are confident it is the later part of the week,” Making Star Wars Editor-in-Chief Jason Ward wrote on Friday. “We consider the likelihood of there being a trailer extremely high.”
So what can we expect in the final Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer?
Disney CEO Bob Iger downplayed box office expectations in September, telling investors, “ "We never felt it would do the level that Force Awakens did.”
Expect the final Rogue One trailer to hard-sell the basic premise of a Star Wars spinoff series to more indifferent audiences unclear how this Star Wars Story relates to The Force Awakens . This could mean a focus on areas of familiarity, so some more Darth Vader is a definitely possibility.
If the rumors and unnamed leaks prove out, we’ll find out what’s in store sometime in the next few days.
