The “Pride” mystery carried The Runaways once we realized the group of teens weren’t going to actually run away in Season 1. With a dozen characters to follow between the teenagers and the parents, there’s so many moving plots and shifting allegiances heading into Season 2. These are the biggest questions left unanswered:
Where Will They Run?
Alex, Nico, Karolina, Gert, Chase and Molly attempted to board a bus to a city outside of Los Angeles. When they were buying tickets, a news broadcast named them as the suspects in the murder of Destiny, one of the Pride sacrifice victims. Since they can’t go back to their parents and are wanted in the streets of L.A., where can they hide? They can’t camp in the hills forever.
What About Old Lace?
The group made Gert leave Old Lace behind. It was terrible. But the dinosaur followed Gert to the bus station. How the hell did a dinosaur walk through the city unseen??
What’s In The Hole?
The Yorkes believe there is something alive in the deep hole Jonah kept secret. The only thing we know so far about the hole is that it produces whatever serum Jonah is using to heal people. We also know that Molly’s parents were killed when they got too close to discovering its contents as well as the fact that the being inside could cause a series of catastrophic events. Whatever sample they had gave Molly powers when it exploded.
Who Is The Mole?
Comic book fans know one of the Runaways actually aligns with Pride. It may not turn out like that on the series, but you never know. Alex is separating himself from the group and Karolina’s fathers (Frank and Jonah) are powered just like her, so there’s certainly reason to believe someone could turn. While we don’t have any evidence yet, keep your eyes out.
What’s Jonah’s Deal?
In the final scene where Jonah and Frank agree to do anything to protect Karolina, Jonah lifts his shirt and we can see there’s something wrong with his skin. Pride appears to sacrifice people to keep Jonah alive, so whatever is happening could be a symptom of whatever is killing him. Needless to say, we also need to know where Jonah comes from and more about his abilities.
Did Alex See Nico and Karolina Kiss?
Alex has had a crush on Nico all season, but Karolina and Nico hooked up at the dance. There’s clearly a budding romance happening and a bit too much PDA could have influenced Alex to rethink his allegiance to the group. As the only one without powers, he’s automatically on the outside. He also understands the position his parents were put in by Jonah, so it’s quite possible we could see him go off on his own. Seeing the girl he’s interested in pursue someone else isn’t exactly a compelling reason to stay.
Who Are The Wilder’s Connections?
The Wilders, both Alex and his parents, are the wild cards in this story. In the finale, The Wilder parents declined to work with the rest of Pride to find Alex. Jeffrey also making a suspicious call. Was he the one who put out the amber alert on the kids? Meanwhile, Alex is also being shady. He went to his dad’s old friend to get a huge wad of money. What did he agree to do in return?
Why Is Victor So Important?
Victor Stein is not a good person. He’s abusive and tried to kill his own son, yet he remains an integral part of the Pride circle. Why is his presence so important during the sacrifices and what does Jonah need Victor for that he can’t do himself? It’s also interesting the flashbacks reveal he wasn’t always so cold. What changed?
What’s With Frank Dean?
Jonah gave Frank some sort of special healing power and now the two unlikely allies are working together in order to “protect Karolina,” though from what exactly remains to be seen. It’s an odd, suspicious partnership that needs to be explained.
What Exactly Is Karolina’s Power?
She lights up all sorts of colors, can become invulnerable and produces powerful beams of light. What is Karolina’s background and what is the extent of her abilities?
Time Travel?
Victor was working on a device that would allow him to see the future. We briefly see a message from Chase in the future telling his father not to pick up the Fistigons in the fight that eventually resulted in Janet nearly killing him. How did Chase develop the tech and what else can we learn from future Chase about what Jonah has planned?
Will The Pride Take Down Jonah?
The parents actually want to save their kids from getting hurt by Jonah, but will they revolt against him? The better question: can they? Jonah is too powerful and considering he doesn’t hesitate to kill, everyone’s life is in danger.
