Based on multiple leaks, it seems Saints Row developer Volition is working on a new game called Agents of Mayhem. No information about the game has been found outside of a title.
There are at least three different sources citing Volition is working on something called Agents of Mayhem. The first can be found on the Istunt page (think IMDb for stunt workers) for Brandon Molale. Molale is a stuntman who lists Agents of Mayhem on his resume for motion capture, saying it’s part of a project with Volition and animation studio Frame Machine.
That leads to the next clue: the resume of animator John Velazquez. Velazquez has an impressive resume, with games like Halo 3, movies like Pixels and more. Velazquez also lists working for Frame Machine on a game called Agents of Mayhem for a month last year.
The final clue is in a now-removed posting on the European Intellectual Property website. While the posting no longer exists, Game Informer has reported a mention of a game called Agents of Mayhem coming from Volition.
These three separate clues all seem to be pretty clear evidence that there is a new game coming from Volition called Agents of Mayhem. Seeing as how Velazquez mentioned doing animation work over a year ago, we will probably be seeing a reveal at this year’s E3 next month.
As for what kind of game Agents of Mayhem will be, it certainly sounds like something in line with what we’ve seen from Volition in the past. Based on the name alone, it seems like there will be an organization of people set out to cause as much chaos as possible. Anyone else getting Saints Row 4 vibes?
Despite the overwhelming evidence, this should still be put in the “rumor” folder until Volition or publisher Deep Silver announce anything formally.
