The first round of Shadow Warrior 2 DLC hit Steam on Thursday, roughly seven weeks after the game made its PC debut, and (for whatever reason) fans of Flying Wild Hog’s frenetic first-person shooter don’t have to spend a dime on the new Shadow Warrior 2 content. There’s even a trailer for the new Way of the Wang DLC, just in case you want to get a glimpse of all the new content coming to Shadow Warrior 2 before diving back into the game.
It’s been a great year for fans of first-person shooters, particularly those hoping to see growth from recent favorites like Titanfall and the rebooted Shadow Warrior franchise. We were big fans of the latter’s sequel, which debuted back in October, calling it “an easy recommendation” for any fans of Flying Wild Hog’s take on Lo Wang’s tale. And now Shadow Warrior 2 is an even bigger game than it was at launch, thanks to a small content injection that Flying Wild Hog is releasing free of charge. There’s no story content in the Way of the Wang DLC. But anyone hoping for more opportunities to engage with the Shadow Warrior 2’s over the top gunplay can look forward to seven new trial maps.
In addition to the new maps, this week’s Shadow Warrior 2 DLC also gives the community some new gem crafting options, a new weapon, a handful of new achievements and three new difficulty settings. The Way of the Wang DLC also includes several dozen bug fixes and UI tweaks, along with a small correction for Shadow Warrior 2’s photo mode.
