Three members of The Fellowship of the Ring are set to make their presence felt in The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth soon. The elf Legolas, the dwarf Gimli, and the wizard Gandalf will become playable characters.
Of these, Legolas and Gimli will arrive early while Gandalf will join a little later. Here's a quick background on the three:
- Legolas
- The Prince of Mirkwood was one of those who volunteered to join Frodo on the perilous journey to destroy the One Ring.
- As an elf, he played a crucial role with his keen senses and scouting ability, along with excellent bowmanship.
- While elves don't usually have good relations with dwarves, Legolas became firm friends with Gimli the Dwarf which lasted till the end of their time in Middle-earth.
- Gimli
- The son of Glóin of the House of Durin, Gimli also volunteered to be part of The Fellowship wielding his trusty axes.
- A proud and strong warrior, he fought side-by-side with Legolas and other members of The Fellowship against the forces of Sauron.
- He also forged a friendship so enduring that he became the first dwarf to enter the Undying Lands alongside Legolas.
- Gandalf the Grey
- This Istari, or wizard, was the one responsible for bringing together what would become The Fellowship.
- He was the one who led the charge against the darkness of Sauron.
- Despite being an immensely powerful being, he is also a loyal friend.
A Strong Team
Once these three characters go live, there's no doubt that they'll form one of the game's strongest allied squads. Legolas is a skilled archer and one of the strongest attackers in the game, using his bow to perfection. Gimli is a brawler and can withstand heavy damage and even deal it back.
Synergy
When Legolas is paired with Gimli, the duo's synergy will lead to stronger attacks. Not only that, but they'll even have a custom cinematic when performing a Team Up Attack. Things are sure to get even better with Gandalf, whose presence strengthens the team with special offensive and defensive maneuvers.
