A new trailer for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is out this week, offering fans of the upcoming JRPG an early look at the real-time battle system fans will get to master when the next Star Ocean heads to North America this summer.
If you haven’t been keeping an eye on the development of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness you might not be aware Square Enix will introduce a new seven-person battle system for the primary Star Ocean series’ fifth outing. Combat will still play out in real-time, as it has since Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, but the battlefield will be much fuller than Star Ocean fans might be used to. Thankfully, the game’s latest trailer shows off some surprisingly large combat areas, so it doesn’t look like the on-screen action will get too crowded in Integrity and Faithlessness. But it’s probably safe to assume we’ll be doing more character swapping than ever before.
The new Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness trailer also spotlights some of the characters who will join your party, including Anne, Emmerson, Fidel, and Victor. We don’t learn any new about the party members but the character-specific segments of the trailer offer a look at some of the combat techniques available to each member of the player’s party..
For a closer look at the seven-person, real-time battle system featured in Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, take a couple minutes to watch the new battle trailer from Square Enix. Then head down to the comments section and share your thoughts on the game’s combat systems.
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is in development for PlayStation 4 and scheduled to debut June 28.
