According to Kotaku, a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently in development. The report also stated that there are two Star Wars projects currently in development by EA Games. One of these two games is the sequel to Fallen Order and the other one is a small game developed by EA Motive.
In the same report, we also learned that a rumored open-world Star Wars Battlefront spin-off game, which was believed to be in development for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, has been canceled.
This Star Wars Battlefront spin-off was being developed by EA Vancouver and even Criterion was asked to lend some help to the development of the game. The game was code-named Viking, and featured some open-world elements.
EA Vancouver was already investing time in creating the prototypes of the game and shortly after Criterion also came aboard. This is when problems started to rise. Even though Criterion was designated as the lead studio for developing the game, the transatlantic development posed many challenges, lending to a difficult proposition. A person involved with the development of the game also stated that "too many cooks" was a running theme.
Viking was expected to launch on next-gen consoles, but it soon became clear that it won't be ready by the end of 2020 and therefore EA had to cancel the project in the first half of 2019.
Speaking of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, all we know is that the game is currently in development, but there is no rumored release window. We'll keep you informed as soon as we learn more about it.
