Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice director Zack Snyder had a clear vision for the DCU films. Unfortunately, Flash actor Grant Gustin didn’t fit the role.
Snyder recently spoke to the New York Daily News about Batman vs. Superman and the upcoming Justice League movie, which begins filming in April. Snyder explained he is “very strict” with the DC universe he’s helped create and wanted to make sure the people cast in the film fit the “tone” of his world. The production ended up going with The Perks of Being a Wallflower actor Ezra Miller to play The Flash.
The director also squashed any hopes of their being a crossover between DC’s TV and film franchises.
“Even if Grant Gustin is my favorite guy in the world and he’s very good, we made a commitment to the multi-verse (idea), so it’s just not a thing that’s possible,” Snyder told New York Daily News .
We’ll briefly see Miller as The Flash in the Batman vs. Superman movie. Snyder previously confirmed The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman appearances will be minor cameos in the film. Hopefully we’ll get to see the Justice League together by the end of Batman vs. Superman .
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice , starring Miller as The Flash, Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman hits theaters March 25.
