It feels like Pokémon Moon and Sun were just announced, but we are already getting some gameplay footage. According to Serebii , the first pieces of gameplay will appear April 3, on Japan’s Gathering at the Pokémon House . That may sound like the world’s best house party, but it’s actually a weekly Pokémon variety show where they talk about the newest events happening in the world of Pokémon.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon were announced last month on a Nintendo Direct that celebrated the 20 year anniversary of the franchise. Players have been going crazier than a Zangoose in a leather sack, waiting for any piece of information to come out about these games. Pokémon X and Y came out in 2013, so it’s about time.
I expect Nintendo to release the three starters for the game, since that’s always what they release first. The water, fire and grass starters always get shown ahead of everyone else, building suspense for the new games. Hopefully Nintendo adds some crazy game mechanics, like the roller blades and Rhyhorn riding that were fun additions to the near-perfect Pokémon formula.
