Pokémon Go’s release date is still expected for 2016 but with rumored delays and lack of updates, many fans are becoming skeptical the upcoming mobile app from Niantec will release on schedule.

But after Niantec’s presentation at SXSW revealed the first live footage of Pokémon Go, the mobile company took to its blog to give fans even more details and images.

The confirmed new Pokémon Go details say certain Pokémon will only appear in their natural environments. The best example given was how water-type Pokémon will only appear near bodies of water, like lakes and oceans.

Egg hatching will be a part of Pokémon Go, and once you get your own egg you’ll have to walk around to hatch your very own Pokémon. To acquire new Pokémon eggs, you’ll have to visit Pokéstops where you can also pick up more Poké Balls. Pokéstops can be found in places like museums, monuments and historical landmarks.

As for battling and how the previously revealed Gym Battles will work, Niantec described the task as such: “Yes, there will be battles. Players will be encouraged to join one of three teams in order to compete over the ownership and prestige of Gyms. They will do this by placing their captured Pokémon in a friendly Gym or by battling with an opponent’s Pokémon in another team’s Gym. Gyms - just like PokéStops - are also found at real world locations.”
