New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character details leaked to Making Star Wars (a site who racked up scoop after scoop throughout the production of Star Wars: Episode 7 The Force Awakens) not only gives us a great sense of Forest Whitaker’s character, but also sheds some light on the plot of the next Star Wars film.

Citing multiple anonymous sources, Making Star Wars reveals Forest Whitaker’s character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be a wounded combat veteran with one robotic leg and a cane. Whitaker will be playing a “good guy” in Rogue One and will wear a cape.

‘Rogue One’ Code Names Reveal Plot Details

While the basic premise of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been known since Star Wars Celebration 2015, there have been some conflicting thoughts on the nature of the main characters. While early reports suggested the Rogue One characters would be mercenaries and bounty hunters hired by the Rebel Alliance to boost the original Death Star plans, subsequent discussions of the Rogue One plot have used the more general label “resistance fighters.”

It now seems the Rogue One team will include both loyal Rebel Alliance fighters and paid bounty hunters. “Based on a differentiated code name from the rest of the rebels in the movie, it appears he is likely good but maybe a bounty hunter affiliated type,” Making Star Wars writes.

The “code names” used to differentiate characters in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story script would suggest the team sent after the Death Star plans will also have their own internal rifts to worry about.

But this will prove the least of their worries, as it has also recently been rumored that Darth Vader will play a major role in Rogue One, complete with some bone-crunching action sequences.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be out in theaters on Dec. 16.
