The Suicide Squad movie has seen tons of positive buzz from fans who’ve had the pleasure of attending an early screening. No, Batman and the entire Suicide Squad won’t go head to head, but it’s only right that we get a at least a few glimpses at the Bat.
While he may not get the most screen time, Batman’s presence will loom over the unorthodox strike team of incarcerated antiheroes. Now a report from Batman-News circling around the vine narrows Batman’s cameo down to three scenes: two with Deadshot, and one with Harley Quinn and The Joker.
The first scene he’ll share with Deadshot is described as “emotional.” His next appearance comes when he chases after Joker and Harley Quinn, as we’ve seen in the trailer. Batman makes his way to the top of Joker’s car, and when it crashes into a body of water, he brings Harley to safety. There’s reportedly not too much interaction between Batman and Joker, but it’s not surprising that story arc will be saved for the Batman solo film. The Bat’s last cameo takes place in the form of a flashback with Deadshot. Considering their adversarial history, there's no telling what backstory we'll see.
Heroic Hollywood’s Umberto Gonzalez was the first to break news last month that The Dark Knight’s impact on the film is more than just the average cameo. “There is a lot more Batman in the movie than they are letting on,” he revealed during an episode of Heroic Insider.
In the wake of Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice , it’s Suicide Squad’s job to get the DCEU back on track. While ‘Yawn of Justice’ didn’t sit well with many fans, the majority consensus is Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Batman was the highlight.
Earlier rumors from Heroic Hollywood suggest Batman and Amanda Waller filmed an important scene together in Vancouver. Fans predict either Batman was warning Waller about The Joker, or urging her to think twice about assembling Task Force X. The fact any of these ex-cons could go rogue at any time doesn’t sit well with Batman and he’ll be watching their every move.
Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5.
