Arrow producer Wendy Mericle told ComicBook.com she and the creative team have a ‘loose plan’ for the highly anticipated 4-day crossover expected in December. While it’s subject to change, she anticipates that the event will go in order of the week. That means Supergirl on Monday, The Flash on Tuesday, with Arrow and Legends following to Thursday and Friday.
However, when asked which crossover show she’s most excited about, Mericle named Supergirl . ComicBook.com reports Mericle said she’d love to see Supergirl’s ‘smiling face’ in Star City ‘just for the contrast,’ leaving a pretty hefty hint that Supergirl may be coming to Arrow’s turf, not the other way around.
"I mean, I love Supergirl. How can you not? I love all those guys, but she's the first female superhero appearing in her own [modern] show!" Mericle said.
Both Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell have teased the coming seasons will have more crossovers than ever before now that there are four shows co-existing in the Arrowverse.
“It opens up so many storytelling possibilities, you have all sorts of things you can play with now that we didn't have before,” Mericle added.
David Ramsey hasn’t been shy to talk about how much he’d like Team Arrow to link up with Supergirl so he can see his character Diggle’s reaction.
“I would love to do Supergirl. I would love to see Diggle’s reaction to a flying woman, just at sublight speeds or whatever. Diggle’s reaction to The Flash was classic,” he said.
First, we’ll have to see how Supergirl is officially introduced to the Arrowverse. While she met Barry Allen in National City last season on CBS, there was no acknowledgement of that interaction on The Flash. Considering Supergirl may be the last thing on Barry Allen’s mind (because Flashpoint), maybe it will be Green Arrow, the hero that started it all, to welcome Kara to her new home on the CW.
Supergirl returns Oct. 10.
