The first of two Titanfall 2 beta weekends are here, and if you’re like me, you’ll want to be calling your Titan and blasting enemies away as soon as possible. To get you ready, follow these instructions for PS4 and Xbox One. PC players will not be able to join in the fun, at least this weekend.
Titanfall 2 Beta
The beta will go live at 11 am EST, and will have two game modes and two maps. The first game mode, called Bounty Hunt. Players earn points by killing opposing players and AI grunts in this 5v5 game mode, but must make it back to a bank to cash all those points in. If you die, you lose your progress!
The second game mode is a classic 8v8 mode of Pilots vs. Pilots. No Titans here, so get ready to wall-run your way to victory.
The two maps are called Boomtown and Homestead. Boomtown is a secret R&D facility, while Homestead is what it sounds like, a small plot of land with rocky plateaus and a river running through the middle of the map.
How to Download
For Xbox One owners, to get yourself into the beta all you have to do is go to the Xbox Store and search for “ Titanfall 2.” You should see something called the Titanfall 2 Tech Test. Download that, and you’re in!
For PS4 owners, follow the exact same steps. Go to the PlayStation Store, search Titanfall 2, and download the Titanfall 2 Tech Test.
There will be a second weekend of testing coming on Aug. 26. This will feature one new game mode and map to play.
Titanfall 2 will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on Oct. 28.
