A new trailer for Troll and I is out this week, previewing a selection of gameplay features from the upcoming adventure game. And our latest look at Maximum Games’ next project confirms PC, PS4 and Xbox One owners won’t be the only consumers enjoying Troll and I in 2017.
Maximum hasn’t had much to say about Troll and I since announcing the game late last year, but the studio’s latest promotional video could easily be mistaken for one of the “101” trailers that seem to be all the rage these days. Maximum Games Producer Andrew Nguyen narrates the entire clip, providing context for the footage shown and revealing new information about the third-person action adventure game.
This week, we learned Troll and I will be set in the Scandinavian countryside sometime during the 1950s. The game will follow Otto, a young man who gets lost in the woods after escaping an attack on his village, and the massive troll he befriends while trying to find a way to safety. Troll and I will let players swap back and forth between the two characters at will, or play the game with a friend via local co-op, putting forth a variety of puzzles and combat scenarios that can only be overcome through clever use of the tandem’s individual skillsets.
The new trailer also confirms Troll and I will make the jump to the Nintendo Switch before the end of the year. The studio doesn’t offer any more specifics about that version of the game, like HD Rumble support, but it’s probably safe to assume Maximum Games will have more information about the Switch version before it’s released to the public.

Troll and I is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. The game will hit PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 21. Troll and I will hit Switch later in 2017.
