Independent video game company Shiro Games is proud to announce that Northgard is coming to all three consoles this year.

“We are very happy to reveal we are bringing Northgard to all three consoles later this year. We have worked hard to optimize Northgard for the controller and to be played on the go in the Switch version," CEO and co-founder of Shiro Games, Sebastien Vidal, said in a press release. "All the content of the original version will be available at launch. This includes the campaign mode, multiplayer, all six clans and much more!”

Northgard was first released for Steam last year. It is a Viking-themed real-time strategy game inspired by Norse mythlogy.

In Northgard, you control a Viking clan of your own and your task is to explore and settle in new territories that hold valuable riches as you fight powerful out-of-this-world enemies like dire wolves, undead warriors, giants, and even dragons. You will leave a legacy and take both fame and fortune to your clan by managing your supplies wisely, trading with other clans, acquainting yourself with mythical creatures and defeating them, surviving the ruthless cold of winter, and conquoring territories.

The console version of Northgard will have the same content the Steam version has. This includes the two major updates, Relics and Ragnarok. So basically, there will be six clans, a long campaign, co-op and competitive online modes all throughout the vast maps which will also feature Ragnarok, ranked play, and many more. The controller layout has been created by the developers to make playing the game easier, and to improve the overall experience of every user.

Northgard’s release date for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One is still unannounced for now. We’ll have to look out for more updates from Shiro Games in a few days or weeks or maybe months. In the meantime, you can play the Steam version of Northgard for $29.99. What do you think about this new real-time strategy game? Do you think it will find major success in consoles like it did with Steam? Tell us what you think.
