The Walking Dead Season 7 midseason finale begins with Negan playing house with Carl, Judith and Olivia. Like a good son, Carl sets the table for his sister, “mommy” and “daddy.” Negan even washed up for dinner, shaving his face and removing his signature leather jacket. They sit and wait for Rick, but Negan decides Lucille is hungry so they’re going eat without him.
Next up is Maggie looking a whole lot better than she did last time we saw her. She plays the ultimate power move with Gregory. So Maggie is on the lookout, pulling her weight in the community. Gregory walks up to the lookout post holding an apple. He plays with the apple, tells her not to let saving their community get to her head. Maggie claps back saying he shouldn’t be so insecure. Maggie then asks if he’s gonna eat the apple, and he says yes. The guy standing next to Maggie on the outpost yells at Gregory, reminding him she’s pregnant. Maggie smirks as Gregory throws the apple at her.
Then we see Daryl trying to escape. He hatches a plan fairly quickly, hiding in a room until the coast is clear. He eats a jar of peanut butter and changes his clothes. Then, like the resourceful ninja that he is, sneaks out and finds his bike. But before he leaves, Daryl kills one of the Saviors that might rat him out. He just beats the guy with a pipe. It’s not until Jesus shows up that he stops beating the guy’s skull. Daryl and Jesus leave the Saviors’ compound.
Back in Alexandria, everyone’s trying to kill Negan and it doesn’t work. Spencer tried to make peace with Negan and failed. Deanna’s dumbass son tries to convince Negan he should be the leader, not Rick. So, Negan guts Spencer in front of everyone. Rosita pulls out her gun and shoots Negan, but Lucille catches the bullet.
Yeah, the people of Alexandria aren’t very smart. Negan has one of his men shoot Olivia and slice Rosita’s face to teach them a lesson. Rick comes back just in time to see Negan at his worst.
Rick finally realises that they need to rise up against Negan. Michonne returns and she makes up with Rick. The show ends with Rick, Michonne, Tara, Carl and the rest of the gang returning to the Hilltop community. Daryl and Jesus pop up with Maggie, Sasha and Enid. They’re ready to fight.
