Negan might be the big new baddie in The Walking Dead Season 7, but Ezekiel might be the true wild card here.
Logan Miller, an actor who plays an unnamed Kingdom soldier on the show, recently teased details about Ezekiel during an interview with ComicBook.com . Miller’s description of Ezekiel is interesting, considering most of the focus for the premiere thus far has been on Negan .
“The only thing I can even say is it's unlike anything that's been seen on Walking Dead so far,” Miller told ComicBook.com. “It's crazy, everybody knows Ezekiel and the Kingdom from the comics. I think depicting that on screen, it has a crazy world to it that almost feel to me very Mad Max -ish or like living in the realm of the Thunder Dome or Evil Dead 3, Army of Darkness situation.”
Miller added, “Ezekiel is a fantastical character, seeing him it, kind of blowing the veil back and seeing what he's actually about, I think fans are really going enjoy. He's such a unique character, it's going to bring some heightened drama I suppose to The Walking Dead .”

Ezekiel is a key player in the war to come in The Walking Dead . He has an excellent poker face, a commanding presence and the ability to effectively defuse a situation through verbal communication. Basically, Ezekiel is everything Rick is not. In fact, Ezekiel was able to negotiate a truce with The Saviors and has Negan’s respect, something the other communities do not have.
So why is Ezekiel the wild card? Well, Ezekiel was unaware of Negan’s rise to power. He didn’t know Negan was harassing other communities until he formed a friendship with Jesus. Ezekiel deeply hates Negan, but never shows it. He might not join forces with Rick right away. Ezekiel might side with Negan, not realizing how bad he’s become. It will definitely be an uphill battle for Rick this season.
