The Walking Dead season 7 SPOILER sources went into overload yesterday with reports of a rather disturbing scene from episode 5. Does a main character really get raped in Sunday’s script? Those who don’t want to know the truth should stop reading, because the facts are coming next.

Controversy erupted in The Walking Dead community when TWD Zone posted its episode 5 spoiler summary yesterday. Amongst the reveals it’s said that Enid convinces Carl to go to the Hilltop to see Maggie, who she now considers to be her family. The report elaborates that, while there, she’s raped twice by the creepy Savior that was intrigued by her keepsake balloons at the end of episode 4. The act supposedly happens off-screen, but Carl sees all of it.

As horrifying as that may sound, however, the spoiler experts at The Spoiling Dead Fans have done a little investigation of their own into the matter. Per the group’s latest post, administrators say “we have confirmed with our own sources that Enid is not raped, nor is there any implication that she is raped off-screen.” It’s further suggested that episode 5 “will not be some miserable torture porn.” While AMC and TSDF have been at odds in the past, this news was spread with intent to ease up on some of the hateful comments that have been sent to the show’s producers over the last few hours. It would seem that any related backlash is totally unfounded.

While the rape doesn’t happen, the full summary does go into detail on a few things that could. Beyond Enid and Carl, the post claims that much of episode 5 has to do with Sasha and Maggie’s position at the Hilltop. The community’s fearful leader Gregory doesn’t want trouble with Negan, so he initially tries to ban Glenn’s wife from staying. It’s supposedly Jesus who convinces Gregory to keep them around, and both women prove themselves to be of immense value when the Saviors conduct a massive siege later in the plot.

Next week’s Walking Dead might also have a little bit of romance too. In conversation, Rick and Michonne’s relationship is said to grow, while Carl and Enid might share an intimate kiss. Of course, given that the rape scene was ultimately proven false, everything here should be taken with a sizable grain of salt.

The Walking Dead season 7 episode 5 is set to air Nov. 20 on AMC.
