Sorry Rick, you can try to redeem yourself, but Negan wins no matter what happens next in The Walking Dead.

Let’s count all of Negan’s wins so far in the show. Yes, people deeply hate Negan, as they should, because he’s the reason some of our favorite characters are gone. But hey, in Negan’s eyes, he’s the hero of the story. Also, let’s be real here, Rick is just as much of a crazy bastard as Negan except he has the luxury of having some redeeming qualities. Anyway, here’s Negan’s win count thus far.
Win #1: Killing Glenn and Abraham
Let’s not forget Rick’s group took out A LOT of Saviors. The Saviors didn’t attack Alexandria; they didn’t even know the community existed. Rick took on the Saviors in hopes of securing supplies for his people. In all fairness, Rick’s group losing two people compared to the dozens they killed seems like a good trade off.
However, Negan killing Glenn and Abraham was the best decision he could’ve made. Glenn is a good scout and Abraham is a soldier at heart. They were the strongest assets to Alexandria and Negan didn’t even know this. Negan killed Rick’s star players and that’s why he wins.
Win #2: Taking Rick’s Weapons
Yeah, this one is a no brainer. Forget the food, forget the mattresses, forget the medicine. Negan taking Rick’s arsenal is basically a death sentence for Alexandria. Even if the community manages to come back, the first thing they’ll need to find are guns and ammo. The saviors made it their mission to stock up on all their best supplies, which will force Rick to get creative with their weapons.
Win #3: Breaking Daryl
Daryl will no longer see the good in people. Daryl wanted to save others, which is why he became a scout in Alexandria. However, letting Dwight and his wife live was the worse mistake he’s ever made. There’s no going back for Daryl, which makes him a new wildcard for Rick. Daryl will do what he whatever it takes to make things right, even if that means going against Rick.
Win #4: Taking Eugene
Eugene is the brains of Alexandria. Without Eugene, Rick will have a difficult time strategizing and planning their next move. Eugene knows how to make bullets and engineer weapons. Eugene’s brains are his best assets for survival, and now Negan has them. Eugene will be forced to give up his secrets and he can’t risk lying to Negan about his knowledge. Negan will kill Eugene if he doesn’t cooperate.

Rick is in for an uphill battle. Negan has all the cards to create a winning hand, and there’s no stopping him. It wouldn’t take much for Negan to destroy Alexandria, so the faster Rick moves to take down the Saviors, the better.
