Developer LAVABIRD and publisher First Break Labs shared a new campaign trailer for their upcoming fast-paced, turn-based game, Warside, that showed off some gameplay elements.

The upcoming strategy game features a single-player story campaign, multiplayer support, and a built-in map editor. Players will be able to choose their Commander, assemble their forces, and battle their way to victory.

Warside's Campaign Trailer

Warside takes players back with how it cuts to the core of what made classic turn-based-tactics games so amazing.

The upcoming title features a great story campaign, unique Commanders that provide different playstyles, superb Battle Powers, and a wide variety of terrain and units.

The game has more than 25 unit types, including artillery and tanks that players must master alongside submarines and warships.

You can also take to the skies using fighter and bomber aircraft as well as command a variety of specialist infantry, such as snipers, medics, mortar teams, and saboteurs, according to Gematsu.

Warside also has 12 Commanders that players can choose from to lead their forces into battle.

Each one also possesses a unique set of passive attributes and a Battle Power. The latter can be devastating when used properly. However, you need to be careful in timing them in order to get the most out of them.

The story campaign is where players can test their skills with more than 30 missions that provide a mix of classic battle gameplay along with escort, rescue, infiltration, and story events.

You will battle in beautiful drawn forest, desert, and snow environments as well as the toxic wastelands.

On top of all of these, Warside also features a number of factions that, when coupled with its unique Commanders, make for endless battlefield opportunities. The game feels a lot similar to the classic Advance Wars but also tries to modernize itself, said PCGamesN.

Modernizing Turn-Based Tactics

The multiplayer mode can be played both locally and online and the game is now available for wishlist on Steam. However, there is so far no word yet on when Warside will actually release in full.

The latest trailer for the game showed off what players can expect to see when they actually dive into the battlefield.

Another thing that you should be aware of is that the different factions in the game have units that have distinct mechanics specific to their faction, according to BleedingCool.

The game will be launching sometime this year and will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
