New details on Watch Dogs 2 emerged this week, courtesy of a GamingBolt interview with game director Danny Belanger, and it sounds like Ubisoft took many of the most common criticisms of the first Watch Dogs to heart while developing its sequel.

Last month, the Watch Dogs 2 dev team confirmed it would abandon the tower system built into every Ubisoft open-world release in recent memory. Now, Belanger has confirmed the tossing of another unpopular batch of content from the original Watch Dogs . According to Belanger, the upcoming sequel won’t feature any of the AR mini-games we saw in the first Watch Dogs. The game will still include side quests, unlocked by exploring Ubisoft Montreal’s digital recreation of San Francisco, but the studio isn’t saying much about what activities we’ll see in Watch Dogs 2.

Belanger also told GamingBolt that Watch Dogs fans can expect to see “seamless co-op” in the game’s sequel. The first game in the series also supported multiplayer, setting up one-on-one encounters between various members of the Watch Dogs community, but the sequel will include difficult “operations” that have been designed for two players to tackle together. It’s not clear if we can expect to see any larger multiplayer functionality, either cooperative or competitive in nature, but it’s probably safe to assume Ubisoft will have more to say about the multiplayer functionality in Watch Dogs 2 ahead of the game’s holiday 2016 debut.
