Bandai Namco To Open Experimental, Appointment-Only VR Zone In Tokyo [VIDEO]

There’s no denying that virtual reality is the next big thing in gaming and entertainment, and video game publisher Bandai Namco has just announced – via Gematsu that on April 15, the “VR Zone: Project I Can” will open in Tokyo.

Bandai Namco’s VR Zone will act as a VR research facility so the publisher can gain feedback from users for possible future endeavors. The VR Zone will be available through appointments only, which the facility will begin taking on April 8.

The VR Zone will run from April 15 until mid-October.

The Japanese press release revealed Bandai is considering bringing its VR Zone to amusement stores and other stores in the future.

Here is a list of games that will be showcased at Bandai’s VR Zone.

Fear of Heights Show – An extreme test of courage where you rescue a cat left behind on a thin plank 200 meters above the ground.

Ski Rodeo – A downhill skiing experience set on a snowy cliff.

Real Drive – A sports driving experience where the vehicle behaves just like a real car.

Escape Ward Omega – A “were we really attacked?” horror experience where you enter a giant, ruined hospital ward.

Train Master – A railroad operation experience where you experience train control just like the real thing as a train driver for JR Yamanote.

Argyle Shift – A cinematic experience wher,e together with a girl, you enter the cockpit of a giant robot and battle.

There is no word as to whether Bandai’s VR Zone or any of its offerings will be available in the West. We reached out to Bandai Namco for comment and will update as soon as we get one.
