Sony Computer Entertainment isn’t ruling out making it’s PlayStation VR compatible with PCs. In fact, Sony Computer Entertainment Executive Vice President Masayasu Ito recently told Japanese publication Nikkei (via Destructoid ) the potential to connect the PlayStation VR to PC is already in its hardware.

"Since Playstation 4 shares a lot of its internals with PCs, the possibility is there," Ito said. "At the moment we are focused on games and we are not ready to make any announcements at this stage, but I'd say there will be an expansion into various fields."

Right now, the upcoming Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are compatible with PCs only. Sony would be ahead of the curve if it makes the PlayStation VR compatible with both its console and PC, making the device a better value at just $399 versus the $599 Oculus Rift.

PlayStation VR will launch worldwide this October. The Oculus Rift ships its first batch of pre-orders starting March 28.
