In a gameplay video released on the official Final Fantasy XV YouTube account, the Final Fantasy XV team has confirmed that Moogles will indeed be a part of the series’ latest installment, kupo. Are you ready, Moogle fans? Throw your caution -- and your Moogles -- to the wind.
Confused? Don’t be. Check out the Final Fantasy XV Moogle gameplay below:
Moogles are a decoy toy which you throw into battle. Enemies focus their aggression on the Moogle decoy toy (note: not a real Moogle, no real Moogles were harmed in the making of Final Fantasy XV ) until the decoy is destroyed.
I guess the wild mobs and evil soldiers of this world just can’t get enough of squeaky Moogle toys?
Some monsters are immune to the decoy effect. You can make a mob and cast a spell if you like, but it wlil hit your Moogle as well, wasting your decoy.
Seems a rather cynical way to treat the beloved Final Fantasy mascot, kupo, but if you ever got tired of hearing their little kupos, kupo, now’s your chance for vengeance. Kupo!
Final Fantasy XV comes out on Nov. 29 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Will you be throwing your Moogles to the wolves? Feel free to talk Moogle cruelty in the comments section below.

Final Fantasy XV is full of more content than you can shake a stick at
The plot of Final Fantasy XV appears to be grounded and make sense, an amazing achievement for any Final Fantasy game
Combat in Final Fantasy XV is okay, but those camera angles though
- Engaging main cast of characters
- Fun, fast-paced combat
- A massive, beautiful world to explore
- The Regalia!
- Continuous updates have addressed some shortcomings of the initial release
- Major aspects of the story feel rushed or absent, particularly toward the end of the game
- Stealth sequences feel out of place
