The Legends -- mainly a very cold-faced White Canary -- gave Flash a huge lecture about fucking with timelines and time-travel. Sara knows firsthand how hard it is to resist considering she could go back in time to save her sister, Black Canary, anytime she wants. But still, she resists. Rip Hunter taught the Legends the damage time aberrations and changes can cause -- often times trying to fix it results in consequences worse than the one you were trying to fix in the first place, or time will find a way of fixing itself.
But it’s the Legends job to protect the timeline and Flash could really use their help right now -- to access the Savitar situation and get confirmation Iris’ future murder wasn’t just a fabricated vision. But it seems after being chewed out by Sara and Ray, Barry probably won’t reach out, or care what the hell they have to say about his ongoing time shenanigans.
"We saw in the [Invasion!] crossover how well they responded to Barry creating the Flashpoint Universe," said Executive Producer Aaron Helbing to ComicBook.com. "I don't think he's really concerned what the Legends think. I think his main concern is saving the woman he loves."
Classic Barry -- his big heart can make him selfish, unable to see the bigger picture. In this case, Iris’ death could get in the way of actually defeating Savitar to save her, instead of saving her then defeating Savitar. But even though the Legends may not make a pitstop in Central City, someone else who has appeared on Legends will, and that could be how the two show’s arcs connect later this season.
Black Flash showed up chasing down Reverse-Flash on Legends and it’s been confirmed Black Flash, the speed force’s grim reaper, will also appear on The Flash. It’s unclear in what capacity, but it could be when Barry enters the speed force to ask for advice on how to defeat Savitar. Let’s just hope Sara doesn’t find out what Barry is up to before then…
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
