There was no sign of Dr. Alchemy in The Flash Season 3 episode 6, “Monster.” The team warmed up to new Harrison Wells, who they thought was hiding something (and could still be) until they searched his belongings and found out he’s no scientist, just a novelist. Barry also went up against a huge monster terrorizing the city, which turned out to be a hologram designed by a 15-year-old kid who was being bullied at school.
Meanwhile, Caitlin is quickly turning into Killer Frost. Her powers are becoming tough for her to control, especially since her personality is starting to change too. She seems more prone to using her powers when she gets irritable and frustrated. She’s scared she’ll become like Killer Frost, which is probably why she hasn’t told Team Flash about her newfound abilities. The good news is Julian and Barry are no longer enemies. After The Flash saved Julian’s life and stopped him from killing the 15-year-old, Julian feels like he was wrong to think poorly of metahumans. For the time being, Julian may not be the top candidate for man behind Alchemy’s mask. Spoilers for next week's episode ahead.
While we didn’t see the season’s big bad last episode, we’ll get a good look at him next week for episode 6, “Shades.” Photos reveal Alchemy’s full costume and confirm Wally will come face to face with the man who's been tormenting him with dreams of being Kid Flash during the Flashpoint timeline. The episode 6 synopsis also reveals Barry will be forced to tell Wally the truth about his life in Flashpoint. None of the photos prove Wally will become Kid Flash again, but Wally has been determined to help protect the city by any means necessary. He even stepped out in front of traffic to see if he could jump start his powers. If he’s willing to kill himself to become a speedster, I can’t imagine he wouldn't at least listen to Alchemy’s offer, especially if Alchemy possesses him like Magenta and The Rival.
WALLY HAS VISIONS OF BEING KID FLASH — When Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) starts having dreams about being Kid Flash, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he has to tell Wally, Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint in order to keep him safe.
This is just the beginning for Alchemy. He aims to give everyone who was a metahuman in the flashpoint timeline their powers back. We still have yet to find out the reasoning behind his agenda. What do you think? Will we see Kid Flash once again this season as a villain or a hero? Let us know in the comments below!
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CW.
