On Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 episode 18, which airs at 8 p.m. EDT, Maggie is scared after finding out her mother has breast cancer and is really sick. Viewers met Maggie’s mother, Diane, earlier in Season 6. Diane came to Grey Sloan Memorial under the guise of wanting a breast augmentation. She met Jackson for a consultation. However, he diagnosed her with breast cancer.
Maggie and her mother have been at odds, with Maggie believing her mother was being selfish to want a breast augmentation in episode 17. However, Maggie soon learned about her mother’s real condition and she was extremely upset.
With much urging from Maggie, Jackson told her mother’s cancer was more aggressive than originally believed. In an episode 17 preview, Maggie and Meredith explain the new diagnosis to Diane.
During the episode, Maggie urges the doctor to try aggressive treatments to save her mother. But Meredith has to argue with Maggie on this, as the treatments appear to be doing more harm than good. Maggie wants extreme measures done to save her mother, but those measures could possibly kill her.
Will Maggie’s mother Diane survive her cancer treatment? We will find out during Grey's Anatomy Season 13 episode 18, "Be Still, My Soul," which is best viewed on television or live online through ABC Live.
