Guardian On ‘Supergirl’ Could Have Looked Like This

Not only was James Olsen becoming a superhero a complete surprise, so was seeing that Supergirl’s version of Guardian isn’t rocking the blue and gold colorway he does in comics or Young Justice. For Supergirl Season 2, James Olsen is donning sleek silver armor, but not even the shield or helmet are yellow. Perhaps this could just be the suit’s first prototype, or maybe James is going for a more subtle look. He is more of a quiet type and the bright yellow is a bit much. Regardless, thanks to a tweet from TheImaginativeHobbiest, we have an idea what James could look like as Guardian if The CW had gone with a style more like the comics.

James won’t just be Kara’s best friend and love interest – he’ll be fighting alongside her to save National City. Guardian will recruit Winn as his sidekick and keep his alter-ego a secret from Supergirl and The DEO. The break-up with Kara in the premiere episode of Supergirl Season 2 could be the reason James Olsen has decided to take his life in a different direction. Part of the reason Kara ended things was because she felt like she had too much else going on in her life. Maybe Guardian and Supergirl can make it work now that they are on the same page.
