More Mass Effect Andromeda news has been revealed ahead of this year’s big N7 Day, including how the game will run on consoles and some revelations about character relationships. First up, performance.

GameSpot confirmed with BioWare producer Fabrice Condominas that Mass Effect Andromeda will run at 30 frames-per-second on both the PS4 and PS4 Pro. GameSpot noted that what we saw during the PlayStation Meeting was a pre-alpha, and more optimization could take place. No word was mentioned regarding performance on Xbox One or PC, but Xbox One performance will likely be on par with PS4’s. PC players will probably be able to have a few different settings, like most PC games.

BioWare also confirmed with PlayStation Access that the female Ryder and male Ryder are actually siblings. This allows both characters to remain canon in the story, and has slightly teased the ability to interact with each other, saying the other Ryder sibling is “out there somewhere.”

It’s also been confirmed the man in the N7 armor in the 2015 E3 trailer is the Ryder siblings’ father. Not much else was said about this character, but BioWare is certainly hinting towards a story revolving around the Ryder family’s adventures, perhaps across multiple generations.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2017.

So what do you think? Are you bummed to know PS4 (and probably Xbox One) performance will be 30 fps? Are you curious to know more about the Ryder family? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
