It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but it seems there will be a PlayStation Experience event this year. The 2016 PlayStation Experience will take place on Dec. 3-4 in Anaheim, CA.
This information comes from the PlayStation Experience 2015 registration page, which has been updated with the artwork seen above. Again, this hasn’t been officially announced yet, but this evidence seems to be pretty conclusive.
As for what we’ll see at this year’s PlayStation Experience, the show will likely revolve around Sony’s two new pieces of hardware: the PS4 Pro and the PlayStation VR headset. In terms of big games, Horizon Zero Dawn will likely be a major player. If we’re lucky, we might even see some new God of War footage as well. Additionally, expect a whole bunch of indie games and newer releases to get your hands on.
As far as third-party support, PlayStation Experience 2015 saw a hands-on demo from Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal. Details haven’t been released for this year’s plans, but it could be possible Ubisoft or another major third-party publisher (like Square Enix, perhaps) could have something to show off.
It is also interesting to note that this year’s event will be held in Anaheim. Last year’s event was held in San Francisco and the first PlayStation Experience took place in Las Vegas. It’ll be interesting to see if one year’s event will ever make its way to the East Coast.
