Good news for loyal players of Pokémon GO ! It's now possible to connect this mobile game to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, both on Nintendo Switch.
With this new feature, players in Pokémon GO can now send Postcards to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet. Those who do get the chance to encounter Roaming Form Gimmighoul and collect Gimmighoul Coins in Pokémon GO. In addition, sending Postcards can affect the adventures in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Use Those Coin Bags
Sending a Postcard to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet allows trainers to use the Coin Bag in Pokémon GO. If this Coin Bag is used, the Roaming Form Gimmighoul appears near the trainers for a certain time.
The reason for this is that Gimmighoul are said to love, and are lured, by the appearance of the bag and the sound of coins jingling within. It was Professor Willow who noticed that these Roaming Form Gimmighoul wanders around more to return to treasure chests rather than collect coins.
Gimmighoul Coins
Trainers can also get Golden Lure Modules if they send multiple Postcards to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet. What these Golden Lure Modules do is to turn PokéStops into Golden PokéStops. Spinning them gives players the chance to Gimmighoul Coins.
Gimmighoul Coins can also be obtained by catching Roaming Form Gimmighoul or by trainers adventuring with this Pokémon as their buddy.
What are the coins used for? Giving 999 Gimmighoul Coins to Roaming Form Gimmighoul and see it evolve into Gholdengo.
Avatar Items
Trainers can also enjoy the new avatar items which feature Roaming Form Gimmighoul, available in the in-game shop. There are also new stickers featuring Roaming Form Gimmighoul, all offered at PokéStops, Gifts, and the in-game shop.
Join the Celebration
Of course, the launch of a new feature won't be complete without a celebration. In this case, there are two campaigns:
- One box containing 9 Gimmighoul Coins is available free to all trainers in the in-game shop for a limited time.
- A retweet campaign is going to be launched to give trainers the chance to win avatar items and stickers featuring Roaming Form Gimmighoul.
Pokémon GO is available on Android and iOS.
