Pokemon Go Plus device has been delayed to September
Pokemon Go Plus device has been delayed to September Niantic/Pokemon Company

Niantic’s Pokémon Go mobile app hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to updates. However, it seems the latest Pokémon Go update (iOS v 0.33.0) has been leaked, revealing some interesting tidbits of what’s to come.

According to the Pokémon Go developers subreddit, the latest iOS update’s code was datamined, allowing the good ol’ folks on that subreddit to figure out what can potentially be added to the mobile game.

First off, the Pokémon Go Plus has been added within the game. Of course, Pokémon Go Plus was supposed to release in stores at the end of July, but Niantic and the Pokémon Company pushed it back to September. It seems the update will get the game ready for when the device does release.

Some redditors also pointed out the Pokémon Go Plus could have more functionality than originally anticipated, including notifying you when a Pokémon is nearby, which sparked conversations about the tracking system returning in the comments section.

However, this should all be taken with a grain of salt until the official Pokémon Go update is rolled out.

The tracking system has been buggy since a week into the game’s life, with the three-step tracker not moving when you actually get closer to a Pokémon. Tracking sites like Pokevision started up to help trainers find these elusive Pokémon, but with the last big Pokémon Go update, the tracking system was completely removed (until it’s fixed?) and those sites were taken down.

Other changes include trainers being able to change their usernames in-game and a change to the evolution animation.

So what do you think of this supposed leak about the latest Pokémon Go update? Let us know in the comments section below and be sure to check back for when the update is officially dropped.
