A listing for ReCore Definitive Edition has been found on the USK website. The USK is the German equivalent to the ESRB, so this listing means ReCore Definitive Edition is legit, and is coming sometime soon.
While we now know ReCore Definitive Edition exists, that’s about it. We don’t have a release date, a price or even what will be coming in the game. All of that information will be coming from Microsoft, so keep an eye on the Xbox website and Twitter page for more up-to-date information.
We do have a good guess as to what the additional content will be, however. It is known that ReCore is getting a DLC pack to include a new robot and new area on the map. It would be a little misleading to say this content is new, however. The map area is already accessible, but has no enemies in it. The extra robot was cut from the original release due to time, and is even seen on the cover of the game. This isn’t so much new content as content that didn’t make it to completion the first time around.
If this DLC for ReCore is going to be paid, and included in the ReCore Definitive Edition, that feels pretty disheartening. Cutting obvious features, including a character featured in advertising, only to sell them back to gamers months after the initial release seems a little slimy. However, if the DLC is free, there’s nothing that would make the Definitive Edition any different from a regular copy of ReCore.
For more information, it looks like we’ll just have to wait on an announcement from Microsoft.
